Local Lamb For Lunch


Lamb is in abundance locally and I’ve had the pleasure to create some recipes this week using ground from Hollister Farms in Martell, NE. With my hectic schedule I haven’t had as much time to devote to cooking as I would like, but these burgers are the perfect hearty quick meal that is sure to satisfy your tastebuds!


  • 1lb. Ground lamb
  • 2 tsp. Curry Powder
  • 1 Sliced red onion
  • 2 Tblsp. Olive oil
  • 1/8 cup Feta cheese
  • 2 Tblsp. Greek yogurt
  • 1 Tblsp. Stone ground mustard
  • 1 tsp. sriracha or hot sauce
  • Dill bread buns
  • Salt & Pepper


  1. Patty the lamb into 4 equal patties and season with curry powder, salt and pepper
  2. Heat up  a large pan over medium heat
  3. Add olive oil and sauteé red onion until tender
  4. Add patties and sear each side for 2-3 minutes
  5. Mix together in a small bowl the mustard, Greek yogurt and Sriracha
  6. Serve the burgers topped with sauce, onions and cheese
